Steve Smith recently notched up his second straight century in the ongoing Big Bash League season. The Sydney Sixer batsman, fresh on the back of his first BBL ton, made it two in a row within just four days.
The former Australian captain has become only the second cricketer to score consecutive centuries in the BBL, bringing up his ton off just 56 deliveries against Sydney Thunder.
From just four matches, Steven Smith has become the top run-scorer for Sydney Sixers with 328 runs at a strike rate of 180. He has struck 24 sixes and 18 fours.
The former Australian captain has overtaken Jordan Silk (306 runs at a strike rate of 128) who has been playing throughout the season.
As a result, Sydney Sixers have moved up to the 2nd spot in the Big Bash League 2022-23 points table with 10 wins and 3 losses from their 14 matches of the league.
Steven Smith was paid much less than teammate David Warner for the same number of games in the BBL. At the same time, he has failed to land an IPL gig and perhaps it is his way of showing that he is not a one trick pony but among the best all-round batters in the game.
Steve Smith does it again! 66 runs off 33 balls to claim his 3rd player of the match IN A ROW! ?? #BBL12
