FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Dense fog to start our Wednesday with warmer temperatures this afternoon – WIS News 10

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Heavy fog is blanketing the Midlands this morning reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile in mainly communities so take it slow and use caution as you head to work and school. Fog will be slow to clear out this morning but should gradually mix out by lunchtime.
A thick blanket of fog has developed over the Midlands this morning leading to a dense fog advisory until 9am as visibility throughout the region are less then a quarter of a mile.
Gradually the fog will mix out through the morning and we will try to get some sunshine to fight through the clouds this afternoon warming highs into the lower 70s.
It will be another foggy start on Thursday with clouds then lingering into the afternoon with temperatures in the lower 70s.
A cold front will slide into the area Friday afternoon/evening resulting in some late day showers with highs in the middle 60s.
We will clear out behind this front for the weekend, but cooler temperatures will move down over the region. Highs will drop into the lower 60s on Saturday while Sunday we will only top out in the middle 50s.
There is a slight chance for a few showers on Sunday but overall it should be a dry weekend.
It will be a dry start to next week Monday and Tuesday with highs in the lower 60s under partly cloudy skies.
Another cold front looks to push into the Carolinas towards the middle of next week producing scattered showers Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday: Foggy start with some afternoon sun and the chance for a few stray showers. Much warmer with highs in the lower 70s.
Thursday: Patchy fog in the morning then more clouds than sun with highs in the lower 70s.
Friday: Clouds increase with a few showers later in the day. Highs in the middle 60s.
Saturday: Times of sun and clouds with highs in the lower 60s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a few isolated showers possible. Highs fall to the middle 50s.
Monday: Mix of sun and clouds and seasonable with temperatures in the lower 60s.
