Multiple schools to dismiss early Tuesday ahead of severe weather threat – KPLC

Lake Charles, La. (KPLC) – Some SWLA schools will dismiss early Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, ahead of predicted strong winds and thunderstorms.
ALLEN PARISH:
Allen Parish schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
BEAUREGARD PARISH:
Beauregard Parish schools will dismiss at 11:00 a.m. Classes are expected to resume on a normal schedule Wednesday, Jan. 25.
CALCASIEU PARISH:
Calcasieu Parish schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. All students will be given lunch and be dismissed following normal transportation plans.
Calcasieu students who are normally brought to different campuses during the day will not be transported Tuesday. All after-school activities will be canceled.
All Calcasieu facilities will close early, and the Curriculum and Instruction Committee meeting will be rescheduled.
CAMERON PARISH:
Cameron Parish schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
JEFF DAVIS PARISH:
Jeff Davis Parish schools will operate on a half-day schedule. They will dismiss no earlier than 11:30 a.m.
VERNON PARISH:
The Vernon Parish School Board will be dismissing all schools at 12:00 p.m.
CHARTER SCHOOLS:
Lake Charles Charter Academy, Southwest Louisiana Charter Academy and Lake Charles College Prep will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS:
Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. The Parent Preview Night has been rescheduled for Wednesday.
Diocese of Lake Charles schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
MCNEESE
McNeese will remain open until 4 p.m., then transition to online classes.
