What we’re tracking
We are tracking two rounds of widespread snow: one is in progress tonight and one is on the way for Friday night – Saturday.  Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Watches have been issued for both systems.
4 Things To Know
Plan your Friday
I’ve already told my kids: plan on going to school on Friday. You only have one more week until Christmas vacation!  In Spokane, the snow will taper off after midnight. Right now, it looks like 1-3″ will pile up by late Thursday evening with up to 5″ in isolated locations on the higher benches. Meanwhile, the back end of the storm should pass through in plenty of time to get the main roads plowed and treated. Temperatures on Friday will start out in the mid-20s and climb into the lower 30s. Expect a gray day with another round of snow arriving late Friday night.

Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
By the time we’re done shoveling Friday evening, the next round of snow will be arriving. Right now, it looks like it will bring even heavier snow. 3 – 6″ of snow is possible in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene from late Friday night into Saturday afternoon. That snow isn’t going to to  melt any time soon. Arctic air will arrive for next work week.  However, the cold will not be coming along with more snow.
